Sponsorship of the future

We’re delighted to have been able to support a team since the 2022 season that shapes the future through its role and its members: the Formula Student Team of TU Berlin – FaSTTUBe for short. It looks like classic racing sport at first glance. Students build a racing car alongside their studies and put it to the test on the track.

FaSTTUBe stands for „Formula Student Team of the TU Berlin“ and extends far beyond classic racing. The team of students from TU Berlin has been part of Formula Student since 2006, where it is more than just speed that counts. Since this is a design competition, a variety of disciplines are assessed. The focus is on technical tasks, in which the construction and function of the racing car are evaluated. Our team also has to present a convincing cost and business plan for their car.

The students assume in the competitions that they have been commissioned to produce the prototype of a formula racing car. A jury assesses all disciplines. This is made up of specialists from the automotive, motorsport and supplier industries.

Experts of tomorrow

So, what are the tasks facing our team from Berlin? They develop a racing car for each season that is both technically feasible and economically viable. The teams meet regularly in international competitions in order to compare their prototypes. Unlike in traditional racing, a lively exchange takes place on how the individual teams have solved the various tasks. New ideas and concepts are openly exchanged.

The Berlin-based team has also been competing with an electric car since 2018 and a driverless model since 2020. This is how they are further developing technologies that will shape our future. The students have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge directly and gain practical experience. Since FaSTTUBe is structured like a regular company, it’s not just technical knowledge that is key. Expertise from other degree programmes is also sought after for covering areas such as finance, marketing and the like.
