Workshop: proper bonding with Loctite

PCH Industrietechnik together with the manufacturer Loctite welcomed our customers to Potsdam on September 29th, 2022 for the workshop „Possibilities of bonding technology“. Participants to this event learnt about different designs and developments that are only possible with the use of modern bonding technologies. In doing so, PCH addressed independent companies from the fields of maintenance and repair.

The objective of the training session was not only to inform the participants about the technical qualities of the products, but also to use practical exercises to show them how to achieve the best possible results when using Loctite products for maintenance and repairs. Following the presentation and the repair concept, the participants were then able to apply the product themselves in practical exercises on site – including substrate preparation and cartridge handling.

Our employee from the industrial technology department, Kai Neumann, shares more in-depth insights into the workshop:

Why exactly did we organise the Loctite workshop and what were the objectives behind it?

Kai Neumann: It was our intention to show our customers what possibilities modern bonding technologies offer. There is a large selection of interesting products for the maintenance and repair of their production systems. Of course, we also wanted to raise awareness of PCH as a contact partner for industrial technology throughout the region and foster dialogue among the participants.

Which applications did the participants learn about in the workshop?

Kai Neumann: We started by looking at the bonding of silicone and which adhesive agents are used in this area. Screw locking was the next major topic, which was presented to us in great detail by the workshop leader from Loctite. The third important topic was the production of O-rings from a round cord.

What feedback did you gather about the workshop and will there be more of them in the future?

Kai Neumann: We got a lot of positive feedback. The participants found the practical exercises and demonstrations especially impressive. That’s why we’re already planning follow-up events. These are currently planned for the second quarter of 2023 and we will of course inform you accordingly when the time comes.
